The Whisle House

Sad but true....

After a new electric fog horn was installed the entire Whistle house and contents was bulldozed under.

The two compressors were run by two diesel engines. When one wasn't being used the belts were unhooked and the other engine would run. The engines also ran a small generator to electrical needs of the point.

The compressed air was stored in a tank. A cam was used to send short bursts of air to the horn. This lighthouse station is known for its one blast of the horn every 30 seconds.
